Agree with this. It is always a tight rope to walk of appealing to base vs middle in modern times. GOP has to deal with it as well (although their base while smaller is more homogenized which makes it easier)

But with the left you have the old guard types like Carville saying "ahh gee we went too woke", but that is all he'll say with limited elaborating. He's an old white guy so he can't exactly call out the Cortez's or MSNBC's of the world. He never thinks oh, when you have education/media/tech/entertainment/woke corps shoving all this shit down peoples throats then it is going to be pretty hard to put it back in a box. It is an incredible feedback loop and makes it a lot tougher to tack back towards the middle than it seems.
